In the first incident, a two-year-old girl named Komal Kumari drowned in floodwater near her house in Dariyapur village. The child, daughter of Lakshman Kharwar, was playing outside when she slipped and fell into the surrounding water. Her mother witnessed the tragedy and called for help, but the child was declared dead on arrival at the Sadar Hospital in Ara.
In a separate incident the same day, 19-year-old Md Raja, a resident of Naya Khwaspur village, drowned while attempting to rescue a friend whose slippers had been swept away by the floodwaters. According to Md Salamuddin, Raja's father, the youth had gone to the market with friends when the incident occurred. As his friend started drowning, Raja tried to save him but ended up losing his own life in the process.
