As of 2:40 PM on August 24th, 2025, a major incident has unfolded on the M1 motorway in Bedfordshire. A multi-vehicle crash has prompted the closure of the southbound carriageway between junction 13 for Brogborough/Bedford and junction 12 for Toddington.
Emergency services, including an air ambulance, have been deployed to the scene to respond to the incident. Northbound traffic has also been stopped to allow the air ambulance to leave the area.

In a separate incident, a section of the anti-clockwise M25 in Hertfordshire has also been closed due to a car fire. Junction 24, for Potters Bar, has been shut, and traffic is being diverted via the exit and entry slip roads. Delays of approximately 60 minutes are being reported in the area.
