On August 1st, 2025, a passenger named Hussain Ahmed Majumdar experienced a panic attack during an IndiGo flight from Mumbai to Kolkata. His distress was met with violence, as a co-passenger slapped him. The incident was captured on video and went viral on social media.
After the flight landed in Kolkata, the accused passenger was handed over to the authorities and placed on a 'no fly list'. However, Hussain, who hails from Assam's Cachar district, went missing from the Kolkata airport. He was scheduled to take a connecting flight to Silchar, but never made it there, leaving his family waiting at the Silchar airport in concern.
Hussain was eventually found on August 3rd, 2025, at the Barpeta Road railway station in Assam. His younger brother, Dilawar Hussain, rushed to the location and brought him back home. Upon his return, Hussain expressed gratitude for being reunited with his family and shared his distress over the incident, stating that he received no satisfactory response from IndiGo despite his repeated attempts to contact the airline.
