On a late Tuesday night, a group of six masked men in undergarments, resembling the notorious "Kachha-Baniyan" gang, attempted to break into a house in Ganesh Nagar, Jaipur. The intruders scaled the compound wall and tried to gain entry around midnight, using a flashlight to peer inside.
The elderly mother sleeping in the hall was inadvertently woken up by the commotion, and she immediately alerted the other family members. The family members woke up and raised an alarm, confronting the intruders. In an attempt to force their way in, the masked men broke two windows, but when the family members began shouting, the intruders retaliated by hurling stones before ultimately fleeing the scene.
The Muhana police reached the spot after the incident was reported and examined the premises, reviewing CCTV footage from nearby locations. The footage confirmed the family's account, capturing six individuals with their faces covered. The "Kachha-Baniyan" gang, known for its distinctive modus operandi and a history of house break-ins in several parts of the state, has not been active in Jaipur for some time. Their reappearance has raised concerns among the police, who have investigated the gang in the past and noted that it tends to become active during the monsoon and winter seasons.
