In a tragic incident last week, a man was brutally murdered at a bus stop in Badarpur, Delhi after three suspects tried to steal his mobile phone. The victim, Makbul Akram, was waiting for a bus while on his way to look for a job when the trio - Mohsin, Deepak, and Himanshu - approached him.
Mohsin, Deepak, and Himanshu, who had been staying together and consuming drugs, spotted Akram engrossed in his phone and decided to rob him. Deepak and Himanshu approached the victim and allegedly attempted to snatch his phone. When Akram resisted, Himanshu stabbed him twice on Deepak's instructions. The three suspects then fled the scene.
Police received a call around 5:51 am on July 26 reporting an unconscious man at the Badarpur bus stop. Akram was declared brought dead at the hospital, with a stab wound on the left side of his chest. His mobile phone was missing.
Investigators reviewed footage from over 1,000 CCTV cameras across Delhi and Haryana, eventually identifying the suspects' scooter and tracking them down. Mohsin, Deepak, and Himanshu were all arrested and confessed to the crime during questioning.
