Summary
- Two members of Kapil Sangwan-Venkat Garg gang arrested after gunfight
- Suspects involved in firing at real estate developer's house for extortion
- Shootout resulted in injuries to both suspects and police officers

On August 31, 2025, police in southwest Delhi arrested two members of the notorious Kapil Sangwan-Venkat Garg gang following a shootout. The suspects, Anmol Kohli and Naveen alias Bhanja, were wanted for their involvement in a recent extortion attempt on a real estate developer in the Chhawla area.
Last month, on August 28, three unidentified men had opened fire at the developer's house, after he had received extortion calls demanding money from the Sangwan-Garg gang. While the victim did not report the incident, a passerby alerted the police, leading to the launch of an investigation.
The special cell's southern range team tracked down the suspects, engaging them in a gunfight on Kharkhari Road in Jaffarpur Kalan early on Sunday morning. During the exchange of fire, both Kohli and Naveen were shot in the leg, while the police team also sustained injuries. The injured suspects were taken to the hospital and later arrested.
Authorities have registered a separate case against the duo for assaulting and obstructing public servants in the line of duty, as well as attempted murder. The arrests are a significant blow to the Sangwan-Garg gang, which has been involved in a series of extortion and violent incidents in the region.
