Sahara India Regional Manager Arrested in Alleged Fraud Case

In a recent development, the regional manager of Sahara India for the states of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh was arrested on August 22nd, 2025, in Bhopal. The arrest was made in connection with an alleged cheating case registered in Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh earlier this year.
According to the police statement, a complaint was filed in January 2023 by one Rajaram Rathore against the company's regional manager Shivaji Singh, their Sehore branch manager S.K. Magarde, cashier Yogendra Chaudhary, and another employee. The complainant alleged that he was duped over his deposits with the company.
Based on the complaint, the Kotwali police had registered a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 420 (cheating), as well as the Madhya Pradesh Protection of Depositors' Interest Act. Considering the seriousness of the case, the Superintendent of Police directed the City Superintendent of Police and the Kotwali police station in-charge to form a team to trace the accused.
Acting on the inputs, the team arrested Shivaji Singh from MP Nagar in Bhopal on August 22nd, 2025. He was produced before a court, which sent him to police remand for further interrogation. Singh, originally from Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh, currently resides in Awadhpuri Colony, Bhopal.
