- Victims Rohit Lodhi and Manoj Rajput killed on March 21, 2025

On August 4, 2025, the Lucknow Police took decisive action in the brutal killings of Rohit Lodhi and Manoj Rajput, which occurred on March 21 of the same year. The police have invoked the National Security Act against the key accused, Mahendra Kumar, a 2018-batch police constable, and his accomplice, Vineet Kumar.
The investigation revealed that Mahendra Kumar orchestrated an elaborate plan to commit the murders and evade detection. Using a fake identity under the name Mohammed Idris, he procured two SIM cards - one for himself and another for his wife. However, on the day of the murder, his wife inadvertently made a call from her personal mobile number, which was traced near the crime location, ultimately leading to their arrest.
Mahendra Kumar was apprehended on March 23, and Vineet Kumar was arrested on March 28. The action was taken on the orders of police commissioner Amrendra Singh Sengar, following a complaint filed by Ramesh Kumar Lodhi, the father of victim Rohit Lodhi, at the Kakori police station on March 22.
