1 Aug
Summary
- Letby's alleged boyfriend accused of sharing info about one of her victims
- He organized for Letby to observe his surgeries on children
- Letby and the doctor exchanged over 1,300 messages

In a shocking development, the 'boyfriend' of convicted killer nurse Lucy Letby is now under investigation for allegedly sharing confidential information about one of the babies she tried to murder. Letby, 35, is currently serving 15 life sentences for murdering seven babies and attempting to murder seven more at the Countess of Chester Hospital.
The man, who is married and 20 years older than Letby, is accused of breaching confidentiality rules by discussing the condition of Baby N with Letby while the child was still in the neonatal unit and after being transferred to another hospital due to Letby's attack. The prosecution had described this man as Letby's "boyfriend" during her trial, and the jury heard how the pair would travel to London and go out for dinners together.
Investigators are also looking into the doctor's requests for Letby to observe him performing surgeries on children, even after she had been moved to an administrative role due to concerns over the high number of baby deaths on her ward. The doctor was on shift when Letby murdered two triplets in June 2016, and he later sent her a message praising her as "the best neonatal nurse" he had ever worked with.

The mother of Baby N has filed a complaint against the doctor, claiming he had no legal basis to breach confidentiality and share the child's condition and private emails with Letby. The hospital has now launched a fresh probe into the doctor's involvement with the killer nurse around Baby N.
