In a startling case of repeated fare evasion, a homeless man named Charles Brohiri has appeared in court charged with more than 100 counts of traveling without a ticket on the Thameslink railway network.
Brohiri, 28, was initially banned from entering any Thameslink station as part of his bail conditions back in April 2025. However, prosecutors have revealed that he has been caught fare dodging a further 30 times since then, with the most recent incident occurring as recently as August 18, 2025.
The Thameslink train operator, which runs services north-south across London and as far as Brighton, Luton, and Bedford, is now facing a total of 113 counts of Brohiri traveling on the railway without paying. This persistent pattern of fare evasion has landed the homeless man in serious legal trouble.
As the case unfolds, the authorities are determined to crack down on such blatant disregard for the rules and ensure that all passengers pay their fair share for using the public transportation system.
