Haryana Districts Rocked by Teen's Suspicious Death, Suicide Note Emerges

Two Haryana districts, Bhiwani and Charkhi Dadri, have been in turmoil over the death of a 19-year-old girl. Authorities have suspended mobile internet, bulk SMS, and dongle services in the region due to the tension and public outrage, as the victim's family has rejected the probe findings that ruled out foul play.

According to the police, the girl, a playschool teacher, was found dead in a field near a canal in Bhiwani district on August 13. She had reportedly been missing since August 11 after leaving school. A suicide note later emerged, revealing the victim had written that her parents were upset with her, though she maintained she had done nothing wrong and wanted to fulfill their dream of her becoming a nursing officer.

The case has taken a complex turn, with the victim's father accusing the police of initially refusing to register a missing complaint and the local administration of mounting pressure on the family to conduct the last rites. The authorities, however, claim the suicide note was found near the body and the handwriting matches the victim's.

As the investigation continues, the situation remains tense, with villagers in Charkhi Dadri expressing solidarity with the victim's family and planning to hold a protest. The Haryana government has ordered the transfer of the then Superintendent of Police and the suspension of five police officials in connection with the case.
