The 32-year-old Ghanaian international appeared in Westminster Magistrates Court in London on Tuesday, facing 5 counts of rape involving two women and an additional sexual assault charge related to a third woman.
The alleged incidents reportedly occurred between 2021 and 2022, during Partey's time with Arsenal. As part of his bail conditions, the footballer is prohibited from contacting any of the three women involved and must inform the police of any permanent changes to his address or international travel plans.
Partey, who stood in the dock with his hands behind his back, has denied all the allegations against him. His lawyer, Jenny Wiltshire, stated that her client "welcomes the opportunity to clear his name." The court appearance comes just days after Partey's Arsenal contract expired at the end of June, with reports suggesting he is close to signing with Spanish club Villarreal.
The initial report of rape was filed with the London police in February 2022. Partey's next court appearance is scheduled for September 2nd, as the investigation into these serious allegations continues.
