14 Aug
Summary
- Shooting at Michigan senior living complex over "love triangle"
- 4 people shot, all in stable condition after incident
- Shooter tackled by "good Samaritan" before being shot himself

On August 11th, 2025, a shocking incident unfolded at a senior living complex in Michigan, where a violent confrontation between elderly residents left four people wounded. According to the authorities, the shooting occurred around 9:30 pm when a man in his early 70s approached a group of residents hosting a barbecue in the backyard and opened fire.
The shooter, reportedly upset over a "love triangle" involving his love interest, a 65-year-old woman, and her new boyfriend, a man in his 70s who uses a wheelchair, opened fire, wounding three people. However, one of the individuals who was shot managed to tackle the shooter, causing him to drop his weapon. A "good Samaritan" then picked up the gun and, in self-defense, shot the shooter.
All four individuals involved in the incident were taken to the Detroit Receiving Hospital and listed in stable condition. The Detroit Police Deputy Chief described the shooting as "so ridiculous in nature that you can't even explain it," highlighting the absurdity of the situation. Neighbors in the senior living complex also expressed their dismay, with one resident stating that this "kind of petty junk happens around here" often, regardless of age.
The police investigation into the incident is still ongoing, and authorities have promised to provide an update on the alleged motive at a later date.
