Last month, on July 24th, a jewelry store in Ghaziabad's Brij Vihar area was the target of a brazen robbery. Two suspects, disguised as delivery workers from food delivery services Swiggy and Blinkit, entered the Mansi Jewelers shop and held the owner at gunpoint. They made off with 125 grams of gold worth ₹30 lakhs, 20 kilograms of silver, and ₹30,000 in cash.
Following a police investigation, six suspects have now been arrested in connection with the robbery. The two main accused, Kapil Kumar and Manish Singh, were apprehended after a shootout with the police on Thursday morning. They had been spotted heading towards Delhi and attempted to flee, but were injured in the crossfire.
The other four suspects arrested include Md Mehtab, Deepu Tomar, Jaiprakash Mehto, and Mannu Khan. One more suspect, Abhishek, remains at large. During interrogation, the accused revealed that they had planned the robbery three days prior at Manish's rented house in Shahdara.
The police have recovered a significant portion of the stolen goods, and the investigation is ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspect and uncover the full extent of the criminal network involved in this brazen jewelry heist.
