Cyberabad Police Nab Notorious Jewellery Robbery Gang

In a daring heist last month, a group of six armed robbers stormed a jewellery store in Hyderabad's Chandanagar area. The incident occurred on August 12th, when the masked offenders entered the store on NH-65 and shot the deputy manager, Satish Kumar, in the leg before making off with around 10 kg of gold-coated silver articles.

Following the brazen attack, the Cyberabad police launched a manhunt and have now arrested a total of six suspects in the case. On August 15th, two accused - Aashish Kumar Singh and Deepak Kumar Sah - were apprehended in Pune and Hyderabad, respectively. Authorities recovered 900 grams of the stolen silver from Deepak's possession.

Further investigations led to the arrest of two more suspects, Anish Kumar Singh and Prince Kumar Rajak, on August 19th in Pune. Police seized an additional 1 kg of stolen silver and a country-made firearm from the duo. The breakthrough came on August 22nd when the prime accused, Prince Kumar Bharati, and his associate, Rohit Kumar Rajak, were tracked down and arrested in Ankleshwar, Gujarat.

Prince Kumar Bharati is a known criminal with six prior cases, including a murder, registered against him in Bihar since 2021. Rohit is also accused in an Arms Act case in the same state. The two suspects revealed the location of the hidden firearm and remaining stolen ornaments.

Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty has urged jewellery shop owners to enhance their security measures, including installing intrusion alarms, to prevent such incidents in the future. Meanwhile, special teams are still searching for the three remaining offenders involved in the heist.
