10 Arrested in Telangana for Brutal Gang Rape of Young Woman

On August 15, 2025, Telangana police announced the arrest of 10 men accused of gang-raping a young woman in the state. According to the authorities, the incident occurred last month when the group of accused, all residents of Jangaon town, lured the victim under the pretext of love and friendship.
The police said the accused took the woman to a room behind "Tea World" on the Jangaon-Suryapet road and sexually assaulted her. One of the accused even allegedly took the woman to Goa, claiming to be in love with her, and had sexual relations with her multiple times there.
Following a complaint from the victim's aunt, the police registered a case and launched an investigation. On Tuesday, the authorities received information that the accused were on Siddipet road, and a team led by CI Damodar Reddy and SI Bharat apprehended them. During interrogation, the accused reportedly confessed to the crime.
The 10 arrested individuals, identified as Mohammed Owaisi, Muthyala Pavan Kumar, Bauddhula Shiva Kumar, Nookala Ravi, Jetty Sanjay, Md. Abdul Khayoom, Pustakala Sai Teja, Muttadi Sumanth Reddy, Gunda Sai Charan Reddy, and Oruganti Sai Ram, have been remanded to judicial custody by the court.
