Summary
- Former manager allegedly siphoned crores from singer Zubeen Garg.
- Rs 1.10 crore invested in a water business using misappropriated funds.
- Court orders notices for property attachment in singer's murder case.

Financial motives appear to be at the forefront of the investigation into the murder of Assamese singer Zubeen Garg. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has informed the Kamrup (Metro) sessions court that the singer's former manager, Siddharth Sharma, is suspected of siphoning crores of rupees from Garg.
The SIT's investigation revealed that Sharma allegedly invested approximately Rs 1.10 crore in the Mahabir Aqua Water Plant, a business located in Chaygaon, using funds misappropriated from the singer. This financial investment is considered a key reason behind the premeditated murder.
Investigators have petitioned the court for the attachment and forfeiture of the water plant, warning that Sharma and his business partner may liquidate assets. The court has issued notices to Sharma and his partner, requiring them to explain why the property should not be attached by January 17, 2026. The probe continues into financial trails and alleged money laundering.
