Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police have arrested Kambeti Satya Murthy, a 39-year-old YouTuber from Visakhapatnam, for allegedly producing and circulating child sexual abuse material. Murthy operated a channel named 'Viral Hub,' where he interviewed minors aged between 15 and 17, posing sexually explicit questions and directing them to engage in inappropriate acts. This exploitation was designed to increase channel monetization.
The investigation was initiated last October when Cyber Crime Police flagged child abuse content on his channel. Following technical analysis that confirmed violations of child protection and cyber laws, digital evidence led to Murthy's identification and subsequent arrest. He had been active on social media since 2018, initially using vulgar language before targeting minors.
Murthy's YouTube channel, which boasts over 2.5 lakh subscribers and nearly 400 uploaded videos, remains active. Police are coordinating with Google to have the channel taken down. This action underscores the persistent challenges in combating online child exploitation and the authorities' commitment to protecting vulnerable individuals.
