He allegedly returned home by taxi, with his phone recording at the victim's residence. The court heard Ms. McNally died from neck compression and stab wounds. McCullagh's tearful 999 call the following day was described by prosecutors as a 'false act' designed to mislead authorities and conceal his involvement.
