10-Year-Old Dies By Suicide After Accusation by Teachers

A devastating incident unfolded in Muzaffarnagar on Wednesday, where a 10-year-old girl, a budding wrestler, died by suicide at her home. The tragedy struck hours after she was reportedly subjected to physical punishment and public humiliation by her teachers at the Government Primary School in Pachenda Kalan. The girl was accused of stealing ₹10 from a teacher's purse.

According to the child's father, a teacher contacted him about the alleged theft, but instead of addressing the issue calmly, another teacher thrashed the student. The girl, who had aspirations of becoming a wrestler, returned home traumatized. She later took her own life. Police have registered an FIR against two teachers under charges of abetment of suicide of a child. Both the police and the local education department have launched separate investigations into the matter, with further action pending the investigation findings and post-mortem report.
