Yellowknife Store Owner Charged in Massive Illicit Goods Seizure

RCMP's Federal Arctic Unit has charged a Yellowknife store owner with multiple offenses following an investigation into illegal tobacco and vaping product sales. The B7 Convenience Store and Aurora Delivery and Moving Services were the focus of the investigation.
During searches conducted on December 17, police seized approximately $128,000 worth of illicit goods. These included 21,595 cigarettes, 598 nicotine pouches, and 385 vapes. Authorities also found 438 empty vape boxes and 24 packs of shisha or illicit tobacco.
A 33-year-old man, identified as the owner of B7 Convenience Store, was arrested. He faces charges related to the unlawful possession and sale of tobacco and vaping products, as well as possession of property obtained by crime. He is expected to appear in territorial court in Yellowknife on Tuesday.
In addition to the contraband, law enforcement also seized $57,543 in cash as part of the operation.
