18 Jan
Summary
- A gang faked currency notes to steal victims' cash during fake raids.
- Police seized fake currency paper, a counting machine, and smartphones.
- Two luxury cars were confiscated as part of the fraud operation.

Yamunanagar police have successfully dismantled a large-scale organised fraud operation centered in Bhure Ka Majra village. Acting on intelligence, officers from Kheri Lakha Singh police post raided a location believed to be run by former sarpanch Rishi Pal alias Kala and his associates. The gang's scheme involved tricking victims by promising to double their money quickly.
To bolster their deception, the group manufactured counterfeit currency by treating genuine notes with dyes and chemicals. Their modus operandi included simulating a police raid when victims presented cash. In the ensuing chaos, victims would flee, leaving their money behind for the gang to seize. While the primary suspects escaped during the raid, police apprehended one man, Vishal, a resident of Bank Colony.
The operation yielded significant seizures, including 193 packets of paper cut to currency size, a currency counting machine, three smartphones, and two luxury vehicles, with a total estimated value of Rs 22.20 lakh. Police are intensifying efforts to apprehend the remaining members of the gang.
