XL Bully Owner Gets 22 Months for Child Attack

In a shocking incident, an XL bully viciously attacked a child, inflicting four bites to the arm. The owner, Scott Gallagher, was found to have done "nothing to help" during the brutal assault. Gallagher has been sentenced to 22 months imprisonment for the dog offence and six months consecutively for child cruelty. His co-defendant, Katie Taylor, received an 18-month sentence for the dog offence, suspended for two years, along with a six-month sentence for child cruelty. Taylor must also complete a 12-month mental health treatment program and 20 days of rehabilitation.
The court ordered the destruction of the XL bully, named Tyson, and a Pit Bull Terrier named Caesar. Both Gallagher and Taylor are now banned from owning any dogs for 15 years. The attack occurred in 2024, and the youngster required surgery to clean and stitch the four wounds.
