A 25-year-old Wyoming mother, Kayla Marie Clark, has been accused of felony child endangerment after allegedly leaving her 2-year-old child unattended to go to a bar. The incident came to light following a dispute at the Ranger Bar on February 18, which disrupted karaoke night.
Police reported that Clark was uncooperative and provided conflicting accounts of her child's location. Her husband confirmed the child was likely alone, leading officers to the apartment. They discovered the toddler in a bedroom with extreme heat, exceeding 90 degrees Fahrenheit, filled with the odor of human feces.
The child was found in soiled clothing, with a space heater set to maximum, posing a fire hazard. Suspected controlled substances and paraphernalia were also found within the child's reach, indicating potential drug use in the residence.
Clark faces multiple charges, including felony interference with a peace officer and misdemeanor endangering children. She has since posted an $80,000 bond and has a preliminary hearing scheduled for March 26.
