For International Women's Day, Sub-inspector Shivali Ulmale, who hails from a farming family, was given symbolic leadership of the Kapil Nagar police station. This initiative by senior inspector Satish Ade aimed to demonstrate the increasing strength and presence of women within the Maharashtra police. Ulmale, who joined the force in 2025 pursuing her father's dream, successfully returned 25 recovered stolen mobile phones, mostly to women.
During her tenure, Ulmale also contributed to 'Operation Thunder,' a mission against drugs, leading to the seizure of 3 grams of MD narcotics and the arrest of two individuals. She expressed pride in leading the station and emphasized the mental strength of women officers, vowing to deliver justice equally. Ulmale also focused on improving the station's environment by adding ornamental plants, working alongside Inspector Ade. Additionally, around 25 women home guards on duty were honored for their service.
