A woman and her sister have been arrested in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, for allegedly murdering her live-in partner in a pre-planned act on June 23. The victim, Zakir, was reportedly struck with a stick and then strangled with a cloth by the two women, Kiran and Kashish.
Following the killing, the sisters meticulously staged the scene to appear as a suicide, tying a cloth to a ceiling fan and bending its blades to suggest a self-inflicted act. Kiran then raised an alarm and informed the victim's brother, falsely claiming he had taken his own life.
Authorities revealed that the murder was premeditated, with the sisters deciding to carry it out on the morning of June 23. The motive, according to ACP Siddharth Gautam, stemmed from suspicions that Zakir harbored 'wrong intentions' towards Kiran's 13-year-old daughter, which had caused ongoing tension.
To execute their plan, the sisters sent Kiran's children outside in a booked cab while Zakir was alone. After the murder, they hid the weapon and staged the suicide. The accused have confessed to the crime, and legal proceedings are underway.
