A drunken party turned violent when Marian Lloyd, a mother of six, attacked her friend Gemma Lockett in June 2023. After an argument, Lloyd punched Lockett and then threw an empty WKD bottle at her head. The assault resulted in a fractured eye socket and a significant gash to the victim's brow.
Lockett sustained injuries that have caused ongoing issues, including difficulty with sideways vision, daily headaches, and a general sense of anxiety and depression. She has reported struggles with daily tasks and a loss of trust.
Lloyd, 37, pleaded guilty to unlawful wounding. Chester Crown Court handed her a 22-month sentence, suspended for 18 months. She was also ordered to complete 15 rehabilitation activity days, undergo mental health treatment, and adhere to an alcohol abstinence requirement. A five-year restraining order was also issued, prohibiting contact with Lockett.
