A missing person investigation is underway after a 19-year-old woman vanished from a boat on Wednesday. Cameron Conley, 23, reported Marly Kinney missing from his pontoon boat at Grayson Lake Marina. Authorities responding to the scene detected the smell of alcohol on Conley and subsequently arrested him for boating under the influence.
Conley's blood alcohol content was measured at 0.137, significantly exceeding Kentucky's legal limit of 0.08. He has since been released from the Carter County Detention Center. The search for Kinney, who was last seen around 4 p.m. on Wednesday, involves multiple agencies utilizing sonar, K9 teams, and thermal-detecting drones.
As of Saturday morning, the search entered its third day with no significant progress reported due to weather disruptions. A group of approximately 50 volunteers joined the effort on Friday to comb the lake's banks. Kinney's family expressed deep gratitude to the first responders and remain hopeful for her safe return.
