Keshia Golden, 37, has received her sentence over two years after a fatal incident involving Calvin Sidney, the father of her child. Golden pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter on August 24, stemming from the October 2022 stabbing of Sidney. The altercation occurred after Sidney allegedly attacked Golden, who was eight months pregnant at the time, following their baby shower.
Authorities were told that Sidney slammed Golden's head on a counter. Golden then reportedly stabbed Sidney once in the leg with a knife, acting in self-defense. Sidney later died from his injuries at the hospital. Golden had previously obtained a protection order against Sidney due to documented abuse and numerous police calls.
Golden was sentenced to two years of probation and community service. She accepted the plea deal to ensure she could raise her daughter. At a press conference, Golden expressed remorse and urged other domestic violence survivors to seek help.
