Woman Shot Dead After Ending Abusive Relationship

A woman in Pennsylvania was fatally shot by her ex-boyfriend, Yujun Ren, after she had tried to end their relationship. Authorities reported that Ren had allegedly been stalking Yuan Yuan Lu before shooting her car while she was inside.

Ren, 32, was arrested on February 8, the same day as the shooting, facing charges including criminal homicide and stalking. He told investigators he killed Lu accidentally and turned himself in to law enforcement.

The investigation revealed that the night before her death, Lu had reported a sexual assault to the Philadelphia Police Department and attempted to end the relationship with Ren. The following morning, Ren allegedly stalked her car and fatally shot her.

Lu's cousin shared that Yuan Yuan had been in an abusive relationship and lived in fear, bravely seeking police help. Tragically, her life was taken within 12 hours of filing a police report.

Ren is accused of sexually assaulting Lu on February 7. He is believed to have followed her car into Bristol Township and Levittown early on February 8. He later surrendered to police, leading them to Lu's body inside her car in Levittown.

The district attorney emphasized the tragedy as a reminder of domestic violence's lethal nature, vowing to seek justice for the victim. Ren's bail was denied, and he is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on March 25.
