Estelle Whalley, 51, has been sentenced to 10 years and two months in prison for the attempted murder of a man outside The Black Bull Inn in Penwortham, Preston. The attack occurred on August 23, 2025.
Whalley was found guilty of attempted murder, possession of a knife, and wounding with intent. The victim, a man in his 50s, sustained repeated stab wounds but was fortunate to be discharged from the hospital on the same day as the assault.
During an earlier court appearance, Whalley had admitted to knife possession and wounding with intent but had initially pleaded not guilty to the charge of attempted murder. She was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £228 and was found guilty of breaching a suspended sentence.
