A 21-year-old woman in Gonda district was allegedly electrocuted by her father and brother after she refused to end her relationship with a man she wished to marry. The tragic incident occurred in Babapurwa Thorhans village, where the family had claimed the death was accidental.
Police reported that the victim's hands were tied and her mouth gagged before electric shocks were administered. Her lover's allegation of murder prompted an immediate investigation by law enforcement, including a forensic team.
The woman's 52-year-old father and 23-year-old brother were arrested after an initial inquiry. They have since confessed to the crime. Crucial evidence, such as an electric cable, muffler, and dupatta used in the act, were recovered from their home.
