A 20-year-old woman staged a protest by climbing a mobile tower in Bihar's Gopalganj district, demanding the release of her boyfriend. The incident occurred on Friday in Bankata Jagirdari village under Bhore police station limits.
Arpita Kumari had been in a relationship with Pawan Chauhan. Her family filed a missing person report, suspecting Pawan of abduction when she disappeared from home on Thursday night. Police detained Pawan for questioning based on the complaint.
Villagers alerted the police on Friday morning about Arpita's presence atop the mobile tower. She refused to descend, insisting on Pawan's release and their immediate marriage. The standoff continued for several hours.
Ultimately, Arpita agreed to come down only after police brought Pawan, still in handcuffs, to the scene. Her family remains opposed to the marriage, and authorities are attempting to mediate between the families.
