A woman residing in Stowmarket, Suffolk, has been prohibited from owning any animals, with the exception of dogs, for a period of ten years. This decision came after RSPCA investigators discovered cats, chinchillas, and guinea pigs in deplorable conditions at her home.
Investigators found injured cats, chinchillas hidden in a cupboard, and guinea pigs in crates. The woman, who has since moved to Essex, pleaded guilty to three charges related to failing to ensure her animals' welfare needs were met.
She appeared at Ipswich Magistrates' Court where she received an 18-week jail sentence, suspended for one year. Additionally, she was ordered to pay a fine of £769, a £154 victim surcharge, and complete 15 days of rehabilitation activity.
