Husband Kills Wife, Flees With Family Leaving Child Behind

A horrifying domestic incident has come to light in Bihar's Vaishali district, where a 22-year-old woman, Asha Devi, was allegedly beaten to death by her husband, Sujeet Paswan. The victim's five-year-old biological daughter was discovered alone in the house when the body was recovered. The child reportedly recounted that her stepfather assaulted her mother with a stick after dinner. The accused and his family members are reported to have fled the scene after the incident.

According to Asha's parents, both she and Sujeet were in their second marriages, with both having children from previous unions. Disputes concerning these children were frequent, they stated. Asha's mother alleged that her daughter had not been fed for five days prior to her death and that Sujeet's behavior had deteriorated significantly after the initial six months of their marriage.

Asha reportedly called her family on the night of Sunday, October 4, expressing fear for her life. Her family promised to retrieve her in the morning, but a local resident later informed them of her death. Police have initiated an investigation, with forensic teams examining the scene and efforts underway to apprehend the accused.
