A routine cow slaughter seizure on Lucknow's outskirts exposed a dark marital conspiracy. A woman allegedly masterminded a plan to frame her husband, Wasif, for possessing beef, aiming to force a divorce.
Investigators discovered that the wife conspired with her lover, Amaan, a Bhopal resident. Amaan allegedly used Wasif's identity documents to book a beef delivery, which was transported from Bhopal and concealed in a cardboard box.
To ensure police interception, Amaan, using a fake identity as 'Rahul', reportedly tipped off Bajrang Dal members. The beef consignment was found in an online porter vehicle near Durgaganj.
Further investigation revealed a prior incident on September 31 last year, where nearly 20 kg of beef was found in Wasif's vehicle, leading to his arrest. It later emerged that the beef was planted while he was away.
This second, more sophisticated plot involved a burner phone SIM card registered to a beggar, used solely to book the consignment. The couple allegedly met on Instagram in 2022, leading to an affair. Amaan has been arrested, and Wasif's wife is expected to be apprehended soon.
