Wife Confesses to Murder Plot for Rs 2 Crore Insurance

A shocking case has emerged from Telangana's Nizamabad district where a wife has confessed to orchestrating her husband's murder to secure insurance payouts totaling over Rs 2 crore. The victim, Palnati Ramesh, was allegedly killed by contract killers hired by his wife, Soumya, and her lover, Dilip, a physical education teacher.

The murder plot allegedly began with an initial failed attempt in August 2025 when assailants tried to hit Ramesh with a car. Undeterred, Soumya allegedly drugged her husband with sleeping pills on December 19th. Her lover and an accomplice then allegedly strangled Ramesh and suffocated him with a pillow, staging it as a natural death.

Suspicion arose when Ramesh's brother, residing in Israel, filed a complaint from abroad. Police exhumed the body on December 24th, and a re-postmortem confirmed foul play. Authorities have arrested Soumya, Dilip, Abhishek, and several gang members, while one accused remains at large.
