Hand Pump Murder: Wife Killed After Heated Argument

A man has been arrested for allegedly murdering his wife following a heated argument in Uttar Pradesh's Chandauli district. The incident occurred in Bichhiya Khurd village, under the Sadar Kotwali police station area.
The accused, Gautam Kharwar, reportedly struck his wife, Soni (29), with the handlebar of a hand pump during a quarrel on Saturday night. The couple, who had been married since 2020, had a history of frequent arguments.
Kharwar is alleged to have then transported his wife's body to the Chandraprabha jungle and abandoned it near Jalebiya Mod in an attempt to conceal the crime. Police were alerted on Sunday when Soni's sister could not contact her.
Upon investigation, Kharwar initially attempted to mislead the authorities but eventually confessed to the murder. The body was recovered on Sunday and has been sent for a post-mortem examination. Kharwar was arrested after a murder case was registered.
