Sitapur police have successfully cracked the murder case of Raju (32), whose body was found along a national highway. The investigation revealed a shocking conspiracy orchestrated by his wife, Pappi, and her alleged lover, Chaudhary Mohammad Tafzeel, with the assistance of Tafzeel's friend, Anand. The trio has been arrested and sent to jail for their role in the premeditated murder.
The murder allegedly stemmed from an eight-year affair between Pappi and Tafzeel, a local quack who opened a clinic near her village in 2017. Their relationship reportedly grew close by 2019, continuing even after Pappi's marriage to Raju in 2025. Police investigation indicated that Pappi often maintained contact with Tafzeel, a fact that her brother-in-law, Rahul Kumar, had previously noticed.
The plot unfolded when Pappi persuaded Raju to accompany her to her maternal home, then to Tafzeel's clinic under the guise of needing medical attention. On the way to Khairabad, they stopped at a secluded spot where the three allegedly attacked Raju, strangling him with his own muffler. The body was then dumped near the highway to conceal the crime as a road accident.
