17 Feb
Summary
- Wife and her lover arrested for premeditated murder.
- Victim's body found dumped in a canal after days.
- Minor detained for alleged involvement in the conspiracy.

In Sriganganagar, police apprehended a 30-year-old woman, Indra Devi, and her 33-year-old companion, Prabhu Dayal, on Monday. They are accused of murdering Bhajanlal, Indra Devi's 32-year-old husband, and disposing of his body in a canal. A 15-year-old boy, allegedly involved in the plot, was also detained.
Bhajanlal, a furniture craftsman, was reported missing from his village in Gharsana before his body was discovered on February 2. The victim's body was found in the Indira Gandhi Canal in Phalodi district, approximately 270 km from his home, after drifting for several days. Police stated the murder was premeditated and fueled by an alleged affair between the wife and Prabhu Dayal.
Investigators revealed that on January 16, Bhajanlal was intercepted on his motorcycle by Prabhu Dayal and the minor. He was assaulted and then strangled. Although Bhajanlal briefly regained consciousness near the canal, he was subsequently killed with a brick before his body and motorcycle were thrown into the water. Phone records indicated frequent communication between Indra Devi and Prabhu Dayal around the time of the murder, leading to their arrest.
