In Gondikheda Charan village, Dhar district, a supposed late-night robbery has been revealed as a premeditated murder. The victim's wife, Priyanka Purohit, 27, and her alleged lover, Kamlesh, 33, were arrested on Tuesday after police uncovered their plot.
Priyanka had initially reported that three to four men broke into their home, stole jewelry worth Rs 3 lakh and Rs 50,000 cash, and murdered her husband. However, investigators quickly found inconsistencies, including the recovery of the supposedly stolen ornaments within the house.
Further investigation revealed that Kamlesh had allegedly paid Rs 100,000 to an individual named Surendra to commit the murder. The couple then conspired to make the crime appear as a robbery.
Authorities swiftly dismantled Priyanka's narrative through sustained questioning within six hours. She confessed to orchestrating the murder with Kamlesh, motivated by their relationship and a desire to eliminate her husband, Devkrishna, to whom she had been married since she was approximately 15 years old. The final stages of their plan were believed to have been set in motion shortly before the incident, during a period when Priyanka had returned from her parental home.
