Wife Arrested for Husband's Murder After Extramarital Affair Dispute

Thane police have apprehended a 29-year-old woman, identified as Deepali alias Bali Vijay Salunke, who was a fugitive in connection with her husband's murder in Nagpur. The incident, which occurred approximately one-and-a-half months prior to the arrest, is alleged to have stemmed from the wife's extramarital affair, causing significant discord with her husband, Gaurav Ragde.
Ragde, a 27-year-old autorickshaw driver from Ajni, Nagpur, had married Deepali in an intercaste love marriage eight months before the crime. Tensions escalated after Ragde learned of Deepali's alleged relationship with Rishikesh Khode. The couple had separated shortly before the fatal incident.
On the afternoon of August 20, Ragde informed his father that he was going to Narendra Nagar to resolve a dispute involving Deepali and Khode. A heated confrontation ensued around 5 PM, during which Khode and his associates allegedly attacked Ragde with a knife at Deepali's instigation near a drain bridge. Ragde was critically injured and later pronounced dead at a hospital.
The accused, who had been residing in Thane, went into hiding following the murder. She was apprehended by Thane Crime Branch officials on Saturday, October 4, 2026. During interrogation, Deepali confessed to her involvement in the crime. She has since been handed over to the Beltarodi police in Nagpur for further investigation into the matter, as officials stated they have no immediate information on the other accused.
