RCMP in Whitehorse are investigating a stabbing that occurred Sunday afternoon at the Mount Sima ski hill. Officers were alerted around 3 p.m. when a 19-year-old man reported being stabbed in the abdomen while on the mountain.
One individual has been taken into custody in connection with the incident. Authorities have confirmed the incident is considered isolated and that there is no perceived risk to the public, with no apparent link to the Arctic Winter Games or its athletes.
Mount Sima, located south of Whitehorse, saw police officers questioning patrons as they left the premises on Sunday. The Friends of Mount Sima Society expressed gratitude for first responders and is cooperating with the RCMP's investigation to ensure community safety.
