DWI Suspect Flees, Found with Cocaine in Westway

Early on January 1st, 2026, deputies in Westway initiated a traffic stop for a vehicle that disregarded a traffic signal. The driver, later identified as 35-year-old Oscar Gandarilla, failed to stop and proceeded a short distance before coming to a halt near a residence.
Gandarilla exited the SUV and attempted to evade deputies on foot. He resisted efforts to be placed under arrest and refused to comply with commands. During the subsequent search of his vehicle, law enforcement discovered cocaine and an open container of alcohol. Gandarilla was also found to have an active warrant.

He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility with a $14,675 bond.
