- Ventura testified against Sean "Diddy" Combs, alleging over a decade of abuse and forced sex acts
- Combs convicted of transporting male escorts across state lines for prostitution

In a recent development, Casandra "Cassie" Ventura, the wife of a Weezer bassist, has been granted a two-year mental health diversion in a police shooting case. This comes just four months after Ventura gave harrowing testimony at the criminal trial of music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs in New York.
In her victim impact statement, Ventura urged the judge to hand Combs a sentence that reflects "the truths at hand that the jury failed to see." Combs was recently convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, with the jury finding that he transported male escorts across state lines to engage in highly orchestrated sex marathons with Ventura and another ex-girlfriend.
Ventura, who was nine months pregnant at the time of her testimony, alleged that Combs used violence, threats, substances, and control over her career to trap her in over a decade of abuse. She claimed that she was forced into lingerie and heels, plied with drugs and alcohol, and made to perform repeated sex acts with hired male sex workers during "freak-offs" that occurred nearly weekly.
Ventura's parents also urged the judge to consider the precedent the sentencing would set for future cases, stating that a light sentence would "dismiss her very existence" and "send a dangerous message" that such "repulsive behavior can happen without meaningful consequence."
As Ventura continues to cope with the "seemingly insurmountable level of trauma" she endured, she remains fearful that Combs or his associates may seek retribution against her and her family. Despite the jury's acquittal of Combs on more serious charges, Ventura's powerful testimony has shed light on the harrowing experiences she faced during her time with the disgraced music mogul.
