Television actor Vipul Roy, known for his roles in "F.I.R." and "Jeanie Aur Juju," has fallen victim to a significant theft at his home in Mumbai's Khar area. The actor reported the loss of cash and jewelry valued at approximately Rs. 7.10 lakh. The primary suspect is a domestic helper who was hired through an online service application.
According to the Khar Police, Mr. Roy, who resides on the 10th floor of Kalaniketan Building, occasionally employed domestic help via a company app. On April 6, he hired a woman named Deepali Sanjay Kharwa for cleaning duties. She had reportedly worked at the residence four times prior, gaining familiarity with the layout and the family's schedule.
Ms. Kharwa arrived on the morning of April 6 and, after asking Mr. Roy to avoid a wet area she was mopping, locked herself in a room. She emerged about 15 minutes later, stating her work was complete, and then departed. The following day, Mr. Roy discovered cash and jewelry missing from a drawer in his cupboard.
The stolen items included thirty $100 US notes, 7,000 UAE dirhams, 14,500 Thai baht, a silver bracelet, and two gold-diamond rings. The total estimated value of the stolen goods amounts to Rs. 7.10 lakh. A theft case was registered by the Khar Police on April 21, 2026, against Ms. Kharwa, and an investigation is currently ongoing. Authorities are examining CCTV footage, online booking records, and attempting to track the accused's location.
