On October 23, a violent altercation erupted in Kadarpur Bhondsi, Gurgaon, over a long-simmering dispute regarding the passage of ancestral land. According to the police, the two parties involved in the clash belong to the same extended family and had been quarreling for days over the right of way through their ancestral property.
The incident came to light when police received information on October 24 about multiple people admitted to Marengo Hospital and Swastik Hospital in Sector 57 with injuries following the violent altercation. A police team reached both hospitals, collected medical reports, and recorded statements of the injured.
In the aftermath, police have arrested six people - three from each group - after cross-FIRs were filed at the Bhondsi police station. The police have stated that both sides attacked each other with the intent to cause serious harm, and further questioning is underway. Security has been stepped up in the village to prevent any further escalation of the situation.
