An 18-year-old Fontana resident surrendered to police on Friday, April 2nd, 2026, in connection with a fatal shooting in Victorville that occurred on Sunday, March 29th, 2026. Deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department were dispatched to the 13000 block of Starshine Drive following reports of gunfire around 3:30 p.m. Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered a male victim with multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was identified as 22-year-old Elias Victor Marcell Brooks, a resident of Victorville. He was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The suspect, identified as 18-year-old Michael Christopher Gallardo, is now in custody after turning himself in at the Upland Police Department. He has been booked for murder and is being held without bail as the investigation continues.
