Victim Confronts Rapist in Shocking Appeal Trial Twist

In a shocking turn of events, Gisèle Pelicot, a French woman whose husband drugged her and invited dozens of men to have sex with her over the course of a decade, has confronted one of the men previously convicted of raping her. The man, Husamettin Dogan, 44, is currently appealing his conviction, denying that he raped Pelicot.

Dogan's appeal trial is being held in Nîmes, France, and he claims he was "trapped" by Pelicot's husband, Dominique, who previously admitted to drugging his wife before facilitating the rapes. Dogan stated in court that he "wanted to stop" but was reassured by Dominique, whom he called "the manipulator."

However, Pelicot strongly pushed back on Dogan's claims, telling him directly, "This is not a sex scene, it is rape. And without a condom." She further questioned, "When did I ever give you consent? Never."

The rapes were discovered in 2020 when Dominique's electronic devices were seized after he was accused of filming up the skirts of women in supermarkets. Police found 20,000 videos and photographs documenting the decade-long abuse, leading to the conviction of 51 men, including Dogan.
