Summary
- Veterinarian altered patient logs to conceal identity.
- Dog's microchip was unlawfully removed and replaced.
- Vet received a one-year conditional discharge.

A veterinarian has received a one-year conditional discharge and 100 hours of community service following a scheme to conceal a dog's identity. The veterinarian, Kimberly A. Parkhill-Brown, 47, altered office records multiple times in July and August 2024. These falsifications included changing the dog's reason for visit from 'dog found in the woods' to 'itchy skin' and altering its sex from male to female spayed.
Further record alterations involved changing the dog's name and unlawfully removing its original microchip. A replacement microchip was inserted before the dog was eventually returned to its owner in Niagara County. Parkhill-Brown pleaded guilty to falsifying business records and companion animal stealing.
As part of her sentence, Parkhill-Brown must also pay $1,000 in restitution for potential medical bills and write a letter of apology to the dog's owner. A three-year no-contact order of protection has been issued for the victim.
